The same system used by Barclays and Halifax. At signup, you choose a memorable word of 6 to 20 letters or digits. At each login, after entering your email and password, we ask you to enter three specific characters from that word — at different positions every login. Even if someone observes you logging in, they only see three of your 20 characters. Combined with Google Authenticator 2FA, this matches bank-grade security.
Mando Network Limited operates in the United Kingdom in accordance with the Payment Services Regulations 2017, the Electronic Money Regulations 2011, the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the FCA Handbook (BCOBS, PRIN, SYSC, DISP). Payment processing and card issuance are delivered by our regulated partner Stripe Payments UK Ltd, authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority as an Electronic Money Institution (FRN 900461). We hold customer funds in safeguarded client-money accounts with UK credit institutions authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority. Every business applicant is verified against the UK Companies House register; every person and counterparty is screened against HM Treasury OFSI sanctions lists. You can refer any unresolved complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service free of charge.
Your Funds are held as electronic money in safeguarded client-money accounts with a UK credit institution, under Regulation 20 of the Electronic Money Regulations 2011. They are never lent out and are ring-fenced from Mando's own corporate funds. In the unlikely event of Mando's insolvency, the safeguarded pool is paid out to e-money holders in priority to Mando's other creditors under EMR 2011 Regulation 24 — typically faster than an FSCS deposit-protection payout, though limited to the amount actually held in safeguarding at the time of the insolvency event. E-money is not a bank deposit and is therefore not protected by the £85,000 FSCS deposit-protection scheme; it is protected by the safeguarding regime described above.
